  • Acquire the basic techniques that are used in recombinant DNA technology, particularly restriction enzymes, modification enzymes, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), plasmids (different vectors, mechanism to select and detect), site directed mutagenesis, heterologous gene expression in prokaryotes/eukaryotes.
  • use of the cloning program CLC Bio Main Workbench/SnapGene

Summary

You will acquire the basic techniques that are used in recombinant DNA technology, particularly restriction enzymes, modification enzymes, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), plasmids (different vectors, mechanism to select and detect), site directed mutagenesis, heterologous gene expression in prokaryotes/eukaryotes. You will be able to use a cloning program like CLC Bio Main Workbench or SnapGene.
